Krista Gulbransen of Whitman College to give lecture, “Prayer, Performance & Politics: Portraits of the Mughal Emperor Akbar Worshipping the Sun” on March 9, 2018

Krista Gulbransen, assistant professor of Art History and Asian & Middle Eastern Studies at Whitman College, will give a lecture titled “Prayer, Performance & Politics: Portraits of the Mughal Emperor Akbar Worshipping the Sun” on Friday, March 9 at 5:30pm in Taylor Hall, room 203. This event is free and open to the public.

A Claflin Lecture “3 Women”, Christopher Wood, March 28, 2017

Christopher Wood is Professor and Chair at the German Department, New York University and a widely respected art historian. His many books include Albrecht Altdorfer and the Origins of Landscape (1993, reissued with new Afterword, 2014); Forgery, Replica, Fiction: Temporalities of German Renaissance Art (2008); and Anachronic Renaissance (with Alexander Nagel) (2010). He is the editor of The Vienna School Reader: Politics and Art Historical Method in the 1930s (2000).
